Barcos del Equipo son vasos pequeños pero generalmente rápidas releative especializados en el transporte de personal de apoyo mar adentro, la carga sobre cubierta, y en ocasiones por debajo de la cubierta de carga, tales como combustible y agua potable hacia y desde las instalaciones mar adentro, como las plataformas de petróleo, equipos de perforación, perforación y barcos de buceo o parques eólicos. Crewboats utilizados para windfarming, su casco de aluminio, son hoy en día propulsados por chorros de agua, no es infrecuente que en una configuración de catamarán. Estos Barcos del Equipo, impulsados por un tripulación de dos persones, en ocasiones adentrarse decenas de millas de la costa, llevando a un máximo de 12 equipos y unas cuantas toneladas de carga al máximo, en funcionamiento operaticiones de un día solamente.
